Hello Everybody! This article didn't come out exactly as I thought, but still great PR!!! Hopefully the link will work! Have a Blessed Day! Happy New Year Everybody!!!I hope this email finds you all well! First of all, it's official!! Our ministry is officially incorporated and is handling all financial business as The Echo Foundation, Inc. We hope all of the 501c3 processing will go smoothly, finish quickly, and at that time your donations will be tax deductible! Thanks so much to all of you that gave with joyful hearts in 2008, whether you received a tax deduction or not! I just wanted to update you on all of the ways God has used e.c.h.o. to serve in our communities and globally! Booth at the Taste of Cary Grove...In August of 2008, e.c.h.o. was privileged to be able to participate at the Taste of CaryGrove by being able to set up a booth with our information and furnish entertainment with our dunk tank! The splashing brought some much needed relief on such a hot day. I'd give almost anything to feel a 90 degree day right now! Thanks to all of you that participated and contributed. We were able to donate over $50 to the Cary Food Pantry at that event. More so, it was an honor to meet and speak with so many of you. Sharing stories and experiences was amazing. I can't wait to be able to serve each of you in some way in 2009! Scarf Sales...November & December 2008 You may be aware that of our relationships is with The Gladney Center for Adoption in Ft. Worth, TX. This fall, we came up with an idea for e.c.h.o.'s first micro economic project for orphans. Some of the beautiful young women at the Kechene Girls' Home in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, put their talents to great use this holiday season! These ladies hand knitted over 100 colorful scarves to be sold through e.c.h.o. to help support their transition from orphanage living to life on their own. Our first avenue of sales was through a partnership between The Cary Soccer Association (CSA) and The Echo Foundation. Cary Soccer Association participants were invited to walk in the Merry Cary Parade that was held on December 7, 2008. I spoke to the CSA board about involving the children with this project. The idea was received warmly by the CSA and not only were we able to educate them, the children, and their families about these orphans, but they were so excited to participate and to wear their awesome scarves in the parade! We raised over $300 in scarf sales plus donations! (please check out the parade pic attachment... my computer isn't working with me today!) After the parade, we partnered up with: The Conscious Cup |
